Value vs. Values

I've been thinking about the meaning of value vs. values. In other words, "What do we value?" vs. "What are our values?"

The difference matters to me because productivity matters to me, and productivity is a function of how much value we create for the resources we spend. Measuring the resources we spend is relatively easy. Measuring value is trickier, since value is more subjective and ephemeral.

So I got down to work, defining value and giving it a proper place in my idea soup.
